Get to know your photographer

I love getting to know my clients, many become friends--my clients are the reason I love my job!

So here are some fun facts about me.....in random order!

1. Trent is my middle name but its what I answer to and have always gone by! I love my name! Trent was my Nee-Nee's (my grandma's) maiden name. Its also my moms middles name and I am honored that I am named after my Nee-Nee's family, she was the absolute best!

2. I love America! If you know me at all you probably already know this....we are so blessed that we get to live in this country where we can worship freely, vote for our leaders and most of all live in a country that is protected by our troops so we can enjoy the freedoms that we so often take for granted! Another Fun Fact: I will cry at any patriotic song....and I can't even help it--I can't be the only one!?! My favorite holiday is July 4th!

3. Everyone has places that are special to them. I love living in Roanoke but my most favorite places are:

- Smith Mountain Lake: my husband & I got married @the lake... I have loved SML all of my life!)

- Raleigh: this is where I spent most of my summers and school breaks. My Nee-Nee & Pop-Pop lived in Raleigh along with many of cousins and family friends--I have so many treasured times there and I still love going back!

-Farmville: My husband graduated from Hampden-Sydney College so its such a special place for us to visit. We enjoy trips to the bookstore and visiting friends there, but most importantly, we LOVE to attend and watch HSC Football...beat Macon!

4. My husband, Ben, is my college sweetheart! Although, we went to the same HS and graduated the same year--we never even talked to each other in High School--!

5. My very BEST friends were my Pop-Pop and Nee-Nee. I joke and say they were MADE to be grandparents but I'm fairly certain they were! They were the perfect example of how to be the best grandparents and people ever. I know how lucky I was to be THEIR granddaughter, but they could never possibly know how much they mean to me!

6. I have an older brother and I still love that I can "Be the annoying little sister", just ask him and I love when he calls me "Sister" its a family thing and I love it!

7. Diet Coke--really if you have ever met me you know that's my go to--its either water or diet coke for me ( no! diet pepsi isn't the same thing...don't even ask!) My husband even says it runs through my veins!!

8. My favorite color is actually/originally purple! You wouldn't know it now because I don't decorate or pick it anymore--but I'll always be partial to my childhood favorite. These days I would say navy and pink are my most favorite--but I love color, bright colors especially make me happy!

9. My degree isn't even in photography! I worked for THE Kevin Hurley (what a mentor he was/is to me--a great person all around, so lucky to have had the opportunity to work for him!) if you are from around Roanoke you knew of Kevin and more than likely he took your pictures growing up! When I was working Kevin in HS he told me I didn't need to get a degree in photography, so off I went to get a degree in Interior Design...nope switched to Business Admin and then landed on Communications. I graduated from Radford University, worked as a preschool teacher, In circulation with The Roanoke Times and then finally as over New Business Development & PR with a health care company. And as luck and life would have it, around the time I got married I was able to turn my photography passion into my full time job!

10. All of my reports cards read: 1.) a pleasure to teach 2.) talks excessively (things really don't change ;)
